Dear friends, let us practice loving each other, for love comes from God and those who are loving and kind show that they are the children of God, and that they are getting to know him better. ~ The Living Bible
Love is more than a holiday celebration. It is a way of life for those who want to show that God is their heavenly Father. Love is something that is gentle, peaceable, kind, generous, and willing to forgive.
In today’s world, it is not an easy thing to watch the news and see so much of what is NOT love being displayed by those who are supposed to be demonstrating the love of God. Both sides of the political spectrum shout or scream at each other and spew words that have no grace or love attached to them. Accusations run rampant about how the opposing viewpoint is full of hate.
But, are they? Are they full to the brim with hatefulness? Or is it perhaps that the light of the accuser’s love has simply become dimmed and they just don’t see clearly that the very ones they say are hate-filled and intolerant are actually no different from themselves? Proclaiming that someone is judgmental is actually a form of being judgmental yourself.
Instead of coming against each other, let us show love. Instead of hurling insults, let’s build each other up by saying good things. It may not always be easy to find something good to say about another person, but if we don’t start looking, we’ll never find it, and will never be fostering unity, togetherness, or cooperation.
The enemy of your soul wants you to stay agitated and stirred up so that peace cannot rule in your heart. Choose instead to show that you are a child of God and getting to know Him and His ways better all the time since He truly IS love.
