Freedom is a costly thing – which makes it all the more precious.
Every year we celebrate what we call Independence Day. This special day commemorates the signing of the Declaration of Independence. This was quite a lengthy process of coming into being rather than an overnight, lightly thought out one. It took much debate and serious consideration before all 13 colonies (represented by 56 delegates) finally came into unity and signed the document over 240 years ago. This declaration is something that will remain as a permanent record forever.
John Adams wrote, “…July, 1776, will be the most memorable epoch in the history of America. I am apt to believe that it will be celebrated by succeeding generations as the great anniversary festival. It ought to be commemorated as the day of deliverance, by solemn acts of devotion to God Almighty…”
Will this July 4th be YOUR day of deliverance? It can be a day where you celebrate not only the birthday of our great country, but where you can also celebrate a spiritual birthday, a day of deliverance in the spiritual sense. To be able to proclaim your spiritual independence, all it takes is a recognition that God Almighty is the one who has provided your deliverance…freedom from fear, freedom from loneliness, freedom from whatever it is that keeps you bound.
Ask, and it will be given to you. Seek, and you will find. Knock, and it will be opened unto you. All you need to do is look to Him and He will meet you where you are and lead you into life. That is why Jesus came – to give us life.
Freedom is a wonderful gift!
